Consider All Income Sources
Oftentimes when a person makes application for a home loan,
that person focuses on his or her income when it comes to
providing information about the finances a person has available
to deal with a home loan. They fail to consider all of the
sources of income that they actually have available to them.
For example, if you have been divorced and are receiving
alimony or maintenance payments as part of the divorce decree
or settlement, this is a source of income that you will
want to advise your home loan lender about during the qualifying
process. Similarly, if you are receiving monthly child support
payments for your children, this is also a revenue source
that you will want to let your home loan lender know about
during the application process. (While child support obviously
is for the child or children of the marriage, it does demonstrate
that you are having financial assistance with the raising
of your children which -- in theory -- frees up other sources
of money that you may have for use in satisfying your obligation
under any home loan that you might receive.)
Get Your Documentation in Order
You need to take the time to thoroughly document all sources
of income that you have. You need to come up with written
materials that you can give to your home loan lender in
support of the various sources of income that you do have.
By obtaining these documents, you will make the process
of applying for a home loan easier and smoother all around.
You will be further along the way of qualifying for the
home loan that you will want to purchase the home of your
dreams.
